Structural integration with Magnus involves a series of 10 sessions, he is taught by Thomas Myers of KMI, Neal Powers and Emmett Hutchins of The ROLF SI Guild in the tradition of Dr. Ida P. Rolf. Specific deep tissue and myofascial techniques in combination with movement are designed to improve postural alignment.
The structural integration sessions are divided into three parts, which are as follows:
The first 4 sessions deal with the sleeve, or the superficial fascia. This is the outer fascial layer. This is the part of your body that does the “doing”, the fast movements. The goal is to open, organize, and lengthen the superficial layers and prepare the body for the deeper core work.
The next 4 sessions are core sessions, which are referred to as deeper sessions. These deeper layers are your “beingness”, the areas of slow, postural movements. The goal is to open, lengthen, organize, and create space in the intrinsic layers of the soft tissue.
The final 3 sessions are integrating sessions where we work to improve functional movement. SI works to facilitate more efficient use of muscles, allowing your body to conserve energy and create more refined patterns of movement with less effort. This reduces chronic stress and enhances neurological functioning.
A 1-hour private structural integration session with Magnus is $115, 1 hour and 15 minutes is $125, and a 1 hour 30 minute session is $140. Three 1 hour and 15 minute sessions cost $300 and six 1 hour and 15 minute sessions are $575. Magnus provides structural integration at his home office in Biloxi. Additional Therapeutic Services
Based on the work of Aaron Mattes, fascial stretch, and therapeutic movement is an active stretching technique, assisted by the therapist, in a flowing, slow fashion, holding the stretch for 1-2 seconds, and repeated 6-10 times. This is combined with a series of gentle range of motion techniques and therapeutic movement sequences. This is great for those who need to improve flexibility and range of motion.
$115 for a one-hour session/$300 for 3 one-hour sessions.
Reflexology is a highly effective pressure point massage of feet and hands which has been used for thousands of years for overall well-being. It also stimulates the nervous and muscular systems as well. The therapist will put strong thumb or finger pressure on reflex points, located in hands and feet that may correspond to zones in rest of the body, thereby believed to relieve tension and pressure. This therapy for good health is believed to have been used in ancient cultures such as China and even further back in Egypt. It may help to relieve stress and tension within the body such as headaches, sinus pressure, and muscular aches.
