If I had to place an emphasis on the beginnings to my massage career it would begin with my grandmother. I have fond memories as a child of her massaging my ears or feet to soothe and calm me and my 5 siblings. As I got older I became the chosen one in carrying on that tradition within my family and friends. So it seemed a natural progression to in 2006 attend Blue Cliff College where I graduated with honors and a 4.0 GPA as a licensed massage therapist.
While still in college I became certified in Reiki Ryoho 1-4 degree and Ascension Reiki 1-10 degree with Leslie K. Wilder. Tho I have to admit I haven’t had request for this modality. After graduation I spent the next 5 years as an independent contractor with the Beau Rivage Casino as well as other MGM properties performing chair massages in the poker rooms. My clients included golfers, poker pros, actors Dean Cain and Brad Garrett as well as many others from all walks of life.
I have been in private practice now going on 8 years and have worked at Mind & Body Inc. for the past 6 of those years.
I have training with Magnus Eklund in European Kinetic Massage , Thai Yoga Bodywork on the table, Kinetic Deep Tissue and Myofascial Massage, Synergetic Myofascial Strategies upper and lower as well as Synergetic Myofascial Therapy Level 1 and due to complete Level 2 August 2017 with levels 3-5 on the horizon.
Other training’s include: Swedish, Deep Tissue, neuromuscular Therapy (NMT), Hot Stone, Myofascial Therapy, and Thai Yoga Massage techniques for Fibromyalgia with Sara Thompson.
“That feeling upon seeing my clients stand taller, walk straighter, and move easier along with their sighs of relief are unreal. Yet I believe the biggest compliment for me is when clients fall asleep while on my table. That tells me not only are they enjoying their massage but also they trust me as their therapist.” Gayle Faupel, LMT 1255
