Salute to Mobile’s Blue Cliff College and its Students of SMT HomeMyofascial TrainingSalute to Mobile’s Blue Cliff College and its Students of SMT

Over the period of April 4-6,2014, I visited Blue Cliff Career College in Mobile, Alabama to teach a double weekend seminar; on Friday, April 4, I taught a 6-CE hour workshop on Synergetic™ Myofascial Therapy that covered the Low Back, Sacrum, Hips and Pelvis. Then on Saturday and Sunday, April 5-6, 2014, I taught the following 12-CE hour Synergetic™ Myofascial Therapy workshop: Neck, Spine, Chest, Shoulder Girdle, Arms and Hands. For more on my experience in Mobile and with the students of Blue Cliff College, please see below.

I have been teaching at Blue Cliff College in Mobile, Alabama since 2006 (nearly a decade). Richard Denney gave me a chance to teach there when I was just getting started in earnest in teaching Myofascial Therapy and few yet knew who I was. He has always been very supportive of my workshops and has made sure that I have everything I need when I’m teaching at Blue Cliff; for all this and more I am grateful.

Furthermore, the school has some great teachers, some of whom have attended past seminars of mine. Luke Fondren, Eric Esping and Louis Carreras come to mind. When you have teachers of this caliber teaching the basics to students, it stands to reason that good massage therapists will come from the program. This is a school I would unreservedly recommend for those who really want to learn to be successful in our profession.

The students who gathered to meet with me over April 4-6 and to benefit from the Mind and Body, Inc., SMT seminars were a great group of massage therapists ready to expand their offerings by learning some new myofascial techniques and to become students of SMT. I had a wonderful time throughout the weekend. Next year I’m planning a 25-hour level 1 course at Blue Cliff College in Mobile. Eventually, we will continue with level 2 through 5 for the whole 200-hour SMT certification in Synergetic™ Myofascial Therapy. We are building toward a future of providing good health through fundamental and in-depth SMT practice together. Looking forward to it! See you next year!
Yours in Health,
Magnus Eklund (LMT 144, MAP 29, LAP 122, Florida 50-9284, NCBTMB 450063-06 Alabama)
