Synergetic® Myofascial Tour 2014 HomeNews & AnnouncementsSynergetic® Myofascial Tour 2014

For the past 14 years or so, I have been traveling weekends on my Synergetic® Myofascial Tour to teach Myofascial seminars to therapists interested in learning these techniques so that they may obtain practice certification, in order to bring these health-supporting techniques to a wider community. I see this as an important goal since all people should be free from pain and these techniques can take one in that direction.

Since my certification in Structural Integration, my teachings have become more refined and step-by-step. My work is inspired by the work of Dr. Ida P. Rolf in combination with Active Isolated Stretching and PNF. Both superficial and deep myofascial work is used in combination with active client movement to correct postural issues and improve structural alignment of the human body, and thereby improve functional movement.

I am teaching six different workshops in 2014, ranging from 6 to 25 CE hours. Here is a listing:

  • Synergetic™ Myofascial Strategies – Low back, Sacrum, Hips & Pelvis. 6 CE hours
This seminar focuses on the midsection, or core, of the body. Special consideration is given to the low back, the sacral area, the pelvis and to hip problems.
  • Synergetic™ Myofascial Strategies – Low back, spine, sacrum, pelvis, legs and feet – 12 CE Hours
This seminar covers the back and lower body with special attention provided to building support and stability from the feet and legs.
  • Synergetic™ Myofascial Strategies – Neck, spine, chest, shoulder girdle, arms & hands – 12 CE Hours
This seminar addresses the back and upper body with special attention to the neck, chest and shoulder girdle.
  • Synergetic™ Myofascial Therapy Certification – Level 1 – 25 CE
Level 1 includes the first three sessions in the SMT 10 series of Myofascial Therapy. Session 1 is the front body, session 2 is the side body and session 3 is the back body. In each of the 10 sessions, we teach an “End Game” consisting of supine neck work, seated back work and sacral stabilizing techniques. These are, in general, superficial sessions preparing the body for the deeper (Core) sessions to follow. We broaden and lengthen superficial (Sleeve) fascia as well as separating individual muscle groups.
  • Synergetic™ Myofascial Therapy Certification – Level 2 – 25 CE
Level 2 includes sessions 4 and 5 in the SMT 10 series of Myofascial Therapy. In this seminar, we access the deeper (Core) fascia of the pelvis and abdomen in session 4, the Lower Core, and the abdomen, chest and ribcage in session 5, the Upper Core. Sacral and Lumbar area work are used to balance the work on the lower front body in session 4 and deep spinal back work will balance the upper front body work in session 5.
  • Synergetic™ Myofascial Therapy Certification – Level 3 – 25 CE
Level 3 includes sessions 6 and 7 in the SMT series of Myofascial Therapy. Session 6 is about deep back work: the back of the legs, the gluteals, the deep six external hip rotators, the back spinal muscles and fascia, and integrating neck work. Session 7 will cover the neck, head, jaw and face, including preparatory work around the shoulder girdle and clavicles and seated back work with flexion/extension movement.
  • Synergetic™ Myofascial Therapy Level 4* – 25 CE hours & 5 – 100 CE hours completes the 200-hour SMT 10 series program. (In 2015; CE not applied for yet).
Level 4* includes sessions 8 and 9 in the SMT series of Myofascial Therapy. Sessions 8 and 9 are upper and lower body sessions focusing on integrating areas of myofascial work and improving functional movement.
  • Level 5* includes session 10, which is an integrating, whole body session and a hands-on, complete 10-session series in it’s entirety, incorporating a ‘classmate client’ and including a full demonstration of each session. Also included as part of this 100-hour, 4-weekend-long finishing course is the following: the theory underlying the 10 session series, the material to be covered and the goals for each session, an overview of structural human anatomy, a postural assessment and a movement assessment.

Graduates of the certification course are also qualified for the following: each may request his or her own listing as an SMT practitioner on my website: We list each practitioner as Level 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 (Advanced SMT practitioner).
